Meet Addison Konlan- Force for Health Coordinator, Ghana.

ADDISON  KONLAN AT A GLANCE

Studying: BSc. Food Sciences and Technology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

At EduCom: Force for Health coordinator

Addison is a third-year undergraduate student of Food Sciences, with an interest in food technology, security and global health.

He joined EduCom as the coordinator of Force for Health in Ghana. He applies the Force for Health platform to educate high school and college students about health and the human body and engages them in virtual fitness challenges and in community health projects.

Apart from EduCom, he is a volunteer with Enactus, Millennium Campus Network and is the Northern regional coordinator for RAISED Initiatives, an African organization building an empowered, progressive and peaceful Africa.

To make this a reality, Addison envisions a rising generation that is educated, technologically skilled, compassionate and honest. EduCom, he thinks, can attain greater transformation in youth by opening technology training centers and granting scholarships to masters and doctoral students abroad. In order to realize this wish, he creates awareness of EduCom’s work among philanthropists and corporates in Ghana.

Addison hails from Bunkpurugu, a small community in northeast Ghana. After his father passed away, he pushed through his monetary setbacks to finish high school. As a result, he values education highly, and small but impactful acts by EduCom, like donating books and school supplies to rural communities, are meaningful to him.

Armed with strong faith, determination and dedication, Addison looks to change the course of his community and country for the better.
